Kids and Families

AFC is a family friendly church. We welcome children of all ages and have many groups and activities running throughout the year. We understand that not all children enjoy sitting still and being quiet….especially during a Sunday service, and we actively seek to accommodate this.  All children are welcome here.

Due to our move Sunday groups will join groups at St Georges where appropriate (see latest information for groups outside Sundays)

Why not take a look at some of the children’s activities we have run and hope to run again in our new building?

Discoverers (Sunday Morning during the service) Now joining St Georges.

Discoverers includes all children from ages 3-11 years old.  We follow Scripture Union material designed for this age range and aim to provide a biblically based session with games, crafts and activities to help our children discover the truths of the bible for themselves and to apply these in practical ways. Our aim is to support parents as they share their faith as a family.  We meet in the hall each week, apart from on Outreach Sundays when we join with Explorers in the church.

Ngage (Sunday Morning during the service) Now joining St. Georges

Ngage is for teenagers from ages 11 – 18 years old.  We follow material designed for this age range and aim to provide a biblically based session. Some years we do a Youth Alpha to support them in their walk with God. We meet in the youth room each week, and on the 4th Sunday of each month we invite friends and chill out with food, games and music.

Explorers (Currently taking a break)

For children 0-11years and their families/friends

Explorers is a special group held on 4th Sunday of the month from 11am -12 noon and is a little different to our Discoverer group in that many of those who come do not usually go to church. It is a great way to explore church and faith once a month in a relaxed and friendly group. Each Explorers session is based on a Bible scripture and we make it a  fun environment for playing and learning. Activities on offer include crafts, edible crafts, collages, colouring, egg hunts, guessing games, packing shoeboxes, yummy food, word searches etc and a short talk or DVD clip.  All are welcome to come and have fun!

Messy Church SEND (still running, currently at Bennetts End Adventure Playground)

Every 2nd Sunday of the month from 2.30pm -4.30pm.

DSC_5927Our Messy Church is run for children with special and additional needs and their families and friends. We believe that everyone is special to God and recognise that families with SEND children can face additional challenges when taking their children to organised groups. Here at AFC Messy Church, we provide a non-judgemental environment.  Everyone is welcome! Every month we run a variety of Messy Craft, activities, songs, games, stories and food based on a bible theme and all tailored to children with SEND. If you would like more information or would like to discuss your child’s needs in advance, please get in touch.

At Fingerprints we aim to provide quality care and education, underpinned by Christian principles. It is our goal to provide a safe, stimulating and secure learning environment where children can learn, grow and develop to their full potential. Our intention is to provide an environment where all members of the pre-school community support one another and everyone feels cared for, happy, respected and valued.

The Christian ethos promotes inclusion for all children and celebrates the uniqueness of every child whilst encouraging them to develop the skills of compassion, respect and self-discipline. We believe that creating the right environment is crucial and therefore we strive to create a secure environment where children feel safe.

We aim to offer parents and carers the opportunity to join a caring community which supports the whole family whilst their child is in our care. Family members are actively encouraged to be a part of their child’s education. We aim to build strong pastoral relationships with the children and their families supporting them throughout their time with us.

Your 3 or 4 year old will be eligible for 15 free hours of free education with us, we are registered to provide funded places for 2 year olds and we also accept childcare vouchers. Visitors are welcome any time, please pop in or call/email to arrange an appointment. We hope to meet you soon,
